It is so nice to cuddle up to your loved one during the night until it begins….is it a bird, a plane, a train? No, it is the loud roar of your spouse snoring in your ear. Not only does snoring cause fatigue in the snorer, it also causes lack of sleep in family members. Snoring, if left untreated can effect your daily life by causing fatigue, lack of concentration, irritability and an increase in health problems in you and your mate. Snoring is cause by an obstruction in the throat, often nothing more that nasal tissue that is blocking the airway as you breath, causing this tissue to vibrate and produces snoring.
Changing your lifestyle and sleeping habits could be how to stop snoring and get a good night’s rest. Exercise and losing weight can tone and reduce fatty tissue in the throat and can decrease snoring. Quit smoking can clear the throat by reducing irritated membranes caused by nicotine. Don’t take medications and alcohol before bedtime because they relax the throat muscles and cause snoring. Elevate your head and sleep on your side to keep your passages open. Hopefully, you will soon be sleeping the whole night through.
